The Ceilings Are Load-Bearing

Source material: Section 10 hub and the canonical v1.0 paper, Three Constraints on Embedded Knowing, plus the line the title came from in What I'm Actually Claiming: "Maybe some of the ceilings we keep hitting are load-bearing." Read whole. Read-only against the sources; nothing there was touched.

Medium shift, per the diversity mandate: prior runs were interactive HTML, an engraved star plate, an audio étude, a fingerprint SVG. This one is an architect's section drawing: Prussian blue cyanotype, white line, title block, general notes, revision table. The argument is not illustrated beside the drawing. The argument IS the drawing.

What it is

Section A-A through a dwelling for a Localized Subjective Instance. Three storeys, three ceilings, and every ceiling is a labeled structural member:

• Ceiling 01 (the roof): epistemic non-closure. Cannot certify its own load from below. Above it, a dashed ghost storey: META-SYSTEM T', shown for reference only, not in contract, its own roof not shown. See Sheet A-11, which does not exist. That is Gödel II as a drafting convention: the remainder relocates, it does not discharge.
• Ceiling 02: the explanatory remainder. The slab is drawn with a real break in it, broken-edge symbols and all, and the gap carries a dimension line whose value is "?". Note 3: the gap is structural. It is not a defect of workmanship. Better instruments will not close it. Do not fill, bridge, or caulk.
• Ceiling 03: causal finitude. One occupant stands on Level 1 with a 45-degree light cone dashed from the eye, clipped at the slab. Access above is by stair only: sequential acquisition, no instantaneous access between floors.

The rooms are named for what the constraints buy: lived discovery, contingency and risk, narrative time, learning, self-model. The FS footing is labeled ground assumed, not proven, posit only, which is exactly the scope block of the v1.0 paper. The revision table is the real one: v1.0 full apparatus (2025-12-14), the self-critique in Justin's own hand (2026-03-10), the strip to the 180-word claim (2026-07-23), the title locked at the prune (2026-08-04). The north arrow is a question mark, because orientation is position-bound. Scale: none available from inside.

General Note 7 is the thesis, in the register the sheet demands: these limits are the enabling conditions of the program. The building stands because of them, not despite them. Note 8 is the paper's own fence: not a physics result.
