The Workshop

The east room with the benches. Everything on them is code with a public repository, and most of it has a tagged release. The rule of this room is the opposite of the Salon's: nothing is here unless it runs. Tools are grouped by the bench they were built on, and the version on the label is the latest tag on the day this room was furnished.

The Obsidian bench

Plugins and a theme for the note-taking app the vault lives in. The aim across all three is a vault with weather: recently touched notes warm up, dormant ones go cool, and the interface says so without being asked.

Cognitive Glow sidebar panel showing notes ranked by glow score 0.5.0 · community plugin · MITCognitive Glow A sidebar panel of notes ranked by a computed glow score from recency and frequency. Warmth is tone-mapped from age; a note past the ignition threshold flips to white-gold. Listed in the Obsidian community directory. Obsidian directoryGitHub
on the bench · themeSignal WeaverAn Obsidian theme where important nodes glow, stale ideas fade, and connections strengthen or decay. The plan is a CSS-variable bridge from Cognitive Glow so the theme reads the same weather the plugin computes.
on the bench · pluginYggdrasilA tree view of the vault that tapers and grows. Next acts on the ledger are the taper and the growth animation.

The text bench

Offline instruments for turning piles of notes into something a pipeline can use. None of them phone home.

v0.2.0 · MITStrainerA small, local-first command line tool that converts text and markdown files into structured summaries, tags, and metrics, entirely offline. Built for pipelines and note systems, not dashboards. One of the four repos the compost charter kept.GitHub
v0.1.0 · MITpsi-loopRedundancy-aware context selection for language models. Ranks candidate passages by relevance and novelty together, using the Psi0 scoring rule, so the context window stops filling with five copies of the same sentence.GitHub
v0.1.0DeterminantNot an agent framework. A runtime for executing structured programs that may include agents, where every run is reproducible, inspectable, and explainable after the fact.GitHub

The instrument bench

Code written to test a claim. The Observatory holds the claims; this bench holds the instruments.

v1.0.0 · MIT · Zenodo DOIGRBToolkitGamma-ray burst light curve simulator: fast-rise exponential-decay pulses, quasi-periodic oscillations with spikes, and hybrid comparison. The published instrument behind the spectral-lag work in the Observatory.GitHubDOI
v0.4.0 · MITThe Temporal GradientHigh-salience events slow the internal clock and reinforce memory; quiet stretches speed it up and let stale items decay. One model, one knob, adaptive tempo.GitHub
public repoTopoGuardA topology-gated refusal layer with a pluggable topology backend. The shipped instrument for the gallery's section seven: refusal as a correct output, decided by position rather than content.GitHubSection 7
public repo · MITlambda ratio explorerA small numerical and visual explorer for the multiplicative group of integers modulo n. The central object is the collapse index.GitHub
public repo · Apache 2.0Biological Data OSDeterministic-first biological data ingestion with trustable downstream semantic resolution.GitHub

The risk bench

Supply-chain tooling from a working life in operations. Deterministic on purpose: an alert you cannot explain is not an alert.

v0.3.0HardstopA deterministic supply chain risk decision engine. It watches external sources, feeds, government APIs, alerts, and links events to your own operational network to produce risk alerts you can act on.GitHub
public repoLumina ProA supply chain monitoring dashboard with risk visualization and operational alerts. The screen Hardstop's decisions land on.GitHub

The play bench

Things built to be used by a person having a bad afternoon. The card deck in the Salon came off this bench first.

public repo · MITMage's RitualsA private, offline-first ADHD companion web app built around the Dragons & Distractions bestiary. Name the monster. Run the ritual. Keep the scroll.GitHub
v1.0.0 · MITAlert Axolotl EvoA deterministic, gamified genetic programming system that evolves. Same seed, same axolotl.GitHub
